About the series

The US Open is the last of the four Grand Slam championships each year and the only one played in New York. Matches run across a large multi-court site, with Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium hosting the highest-profile sessions and the outer courts running simultaneously through the opening rounds.

Ticketing for the tournament is organised by session rather than by match. Early-round grounds admission gives access to the outer courts, while stadium sessions are sold separately and are split into day and night. Because the draw is not known until shortly before play, a session ticket is a ticket to whatever is scheduled on that court at that time, not to a specific pairing.

That structure matters when you are comparing listings. A first-week grounds session and a second-week stadium session are very different products, and the session label is the only reliable way to tell them apart.

What to check before you buy

  • Sessions are split into day and night; check which one a listing covers.
  • Grounds admission and stadium seats are separate ticket types.
  • Match-ups are set by the draw and are not guaranteed by any ticket.
