Chicago Cubs Tickets: Schedule, Prices & Buying Tips

The Chicago Cubs play in Major League Baseball's National League and have called Wrigley Field home since 1916. This guide is for fans planning a trip to a game: how to find the games currently on sale, what to check on a listing, and what actually drives the price you see.

How to find current Cubs games

The Chicago Cubs page on OriginalTickets lists every upcoming Cubs game we currently have, soonest first, and can be filtered to home or away games and by month. The list updates as the schedule and inventory change, so it is the place to check rather than a fixed list in an article.

Games that have already started are not shown as upcoming. If no games are listed, the season may be over or the next schedule may not be on sale yet.

Home games versus away games

Home games are played at Wrigley Field on Chicago's North Side. Away games are played at the opposing team's ballpark, so the venue, city, local start time and seating layout are all different.

Every listing shows the venue and city. Before you buy, make sure it's the game you mean — a Cubs game in another city has the Cubs' name on it too.

Wrigley Field and the Cubs

Wrigley Field is one of the oldest ballparks in the major leagues, with open-air stands, ivy-covered outfield walls and a hand-operated scoreboard. Its older design means some seats are covered by an overhang and some can have a support column in view.

Our Wrigley Field seating guide explains the seating levels and what to weigh when picking seats there.

Understanding sections and rows

Each listing shows a section and, usually, a row. At Wrigley Field that might be a lower-level box, a terrace section, the upper deck or the bleachers. Two listings in the same section can be priced differently because of the row, the exact seats or how many tickets are offered.

Read the listing's notes. If it mentions a limited or obstructed view, that's part of what you are buying.

What influences resale ticket prices

Cubs resale prices are set by individual sellers and move with ordinary demand:

  • The opponent, including division rivals and visiting teams with large followings.
  • The day and time: weekend and summer games tend to draw more demand than weekday games early or late in the season.
  • Special dates such as Opening Day, holidays, giveaways or milestone games.
  • How the season is going, and whether a game matters for the standings or postseason.
  • Seat location and the number of seats you need together.
  • Weather forecasts close to game day for an open-air ballpark.

Why prices and inventory change

Resale inventory is live: sellers list, reprice and sell tickets constantly. A price you saw yesterday may be different or gone today. When you choose tickets, we recheck them against live inventory before checkout so you don't buy from a stale listing.

Prices shown are the all-in price per ticket from our ticket partner, including mandatory fees. Applicable taxes and any shipping are added at checkout.

Quantity: buying for a group

If you want to sit together, choose the full quantity on one listing. Buying single tickets from separate listings won't put you side by side.

Some sellers only allow certain quantities so that one seat is not left on its own. If the number you want isn't offered, look at other listings in nearby sections.

Timing your purchase

There is no reliable rule for when Cubs tickets are cheapest. Prices for high-demand games can climb as the date approaches; for other games, unsold seats can come down close to first pitch. Waiting can also mean the seats you wanted are gone.

We don't predict prices. If a game matters to you, buying when you find seats and a total you are happy with is the safest approach.

Review the event before you pay

Before checkout, confirm the opponent, date, local start time, venue and city, then the section, row and quantity. At checkout, review the order total and the terms for delivery, rescheduling and cancellation, which come from the ticket provider.

  • I've reviewed the order total and terms at checkout.
