Entourage Creator Doug Ellin Blasts Jake Paul's Betr Ad as "Trash and Theft"
Doug Ellin, creator of Entourage, publicly condemned a commercial featuring Jeremy Piven and Adrian Grenier for Jake Paul's Betr platform, labeling it "trash and theft." HBO reportedly echoed Ellin's strong disapproval of the ad.

Doug Ellin, creator of Entourage , absolutely hates a gambling commercial that appears to have lifted the show’s style and characters, and HBO is enraged too, at least according to one report.
A recently released commercial for Betr, Jake Paul’s betting platform, reunited Jeremy Piven and Adrian Grenier, who played Ari Gold and Vincent Chase, respectively, in Entourage , for a scene that is more than reminiscent of the show and mimics the characters’ dynamic. Ellin was unequivocal in his disdain.
“I have zero positivity in watching things I busted my ass (off) on for years (be) turned into garbage . . . Go create your own shit,” he said in a social media post a day after the commercial was revealed. “This is trash and theft.”

Ellin continued his diatribe in another post, saying “Many people worked really hard to make our show as good as it was. When I see cheap, shitty imitations that try to pass for what we did it makes me puke.”

The creator and producer may not be the only one that’s pissed.
HBO apparently sent a cease-and-desist letter demanding Betr take down the ad, according to Puck News . The entertainment outlet reported that HBO cited copyright infringement of Entourage , claiming the commercial doesn’t simply include the show’s leads but re-creates character tropes and a Hollywood party scene from the show.
A spokesperson for Betr told Entertainment Weekly , “We had a lot of fun making it, they had a lot of fun making it, and people seem to be having a lot of fun watching it. We appreciate Doug watching the ad and helping promote it.”
Sounds like they aren’t going to be hugging it out .
