Gerard Way Teases New My Chemical Romance Music, Expressing Desire For Another Album
Gerard Way hinted at the possibility of new My Chemical Romance material, telling a crowd that the band "kind of really always wanted to make another record" and "should probably make more songs."
My Chemical Romance haven’t released an album in 16 years, and frontman Gerard Way addressed the absence of new MCR music — beyond a 2022 one-off single “The Foundations of Decay” — during their show at San Antonio’s Alamodome on Saturday, September 12th.
“We should probably make more songs,” Way told the crowd. “‘[The Foundations of] Decay’ was really awesome; let’s keep doing it. Stuff happens, life happens, but just know that we kind of really always wanted to make another record. Time will tell if the follow-up to 2010’s Danger Days: The True Lives of The Fabulous Killjoys will arrive; in the meantime, My Chemical Romance are still intent on celebrating the past.
