Suno Appoints Former Hightouch CFO Cherry Miao as First Finance Chief

Suno hires ex-Hightouch CFO Cherry Miao as its first finance chief: ‘Music is one of the things that makes humans human’

That’s according to Miao , who announced the appointment in a LinkedIn post on Monday ( September 14 ).

She joins from Hightouch , the data and AI marketing company, where she was CFO.

Wrote Miao : “I’m thrilled to share that I’ve joined Suno , the AI music company, as their first CFO.

“I’m not joining Suno because it’s one of the fastest-growing companies of all time (though it is!). I’m joining because my daughter started singing before she started talking.

“Music is one of the things that makes humans human, and I’m deeply committed to the mission of using technology to bring more people the joy of creative expression.

“On an internet that pushes us to mindlessly consume, more than 100 million people have used Suno to make something instead. A world centered on creation and expression is the world I want my daughter to live in.”

In her post, Miao thanked Suno ’s founding team, linking to the profiles of co-founders Mikey Shulman , Martin Camacho , and Georg Kucsko .

She also thanked people at Menlo Ventures , Bond Capital , Forerunner , IVP , Lightspeed , and Matrix , all of which have invested in Suno .

Suno announced a Series D round of more than USD $400 million at a $5.4 billion post-money valuation in June.

That round was led by Bond Capital , alongside IVP , Forerunner , Union Square Ventures , Alkeon , and Quiet , with participation from existing investors Matrix , Lightspeed , Menlo Ventures , and Schroders Capital .

It more than doubled Suno ’s valuation from the $2.45 billion it reached after a $250 million Series C round in November 2025.

In February, Suno said it had passed 2 million paid subscribers and $300 million in annual recurring revenue .

Co-founder and CEO Mikey Shulman said at the time that over 100 million people had used the platform.

Suno runs a free tier alongside a Pro plan at $10 per month and a Premier plan at $30 per month.

The company counted around 200 employees in June and planned to grow headcount by as much as 70% by the end of the year, according to Bloomberg .

Miao is the latest senior appointment at Suno , which hired former Merlin CEO Jeremy Sirota as Chief Commercial Officer in February.

Paul Sinclair , who spent over two decades at Warner Music Group , joined Suno as Chief Music Officer in July 2025.

Miao oversaw finance, legal, data, and revenue operations at Hightouch , and had been both a customer and an angel investor in the company before joining it, CFO.com reported in October 2025.

Hightouch was valued at $2.75 billion following a $150 million Series D in April .

Her previous employers include Headway and Accel .

Suno launched its v6 suite of AI music models on Wednesday (September 9) , developed with what the company called its industry partners, including Warner Music Group , BMG , and Believe .

Suno settled WMG ’s copyright lawsuit in November 2025, in a deal that also saw it acquire concert-discovery platform Songkick from the major.

It signed a licensing deal with BMG on August 12, and another with Believe on September 8.

Universal Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment remain plaintiffs in the RIAA -coordinated copyright case filed against Suno in Boston in June 2024.

Fact discovery in that case closes on September 30 .

Suno lost a first-instance copyright case brought by Germany’s GEMA at the Munich Regional Court on July 31 , and said in a statement at the time that it disagreed with the ruling and was “evaluating all available options, including an appeal.”

Denmark’s Koda sued the company in Copenhagen in November 2025, and Canada’s SOCAN filed a claim in the Federal Court of Canada on September 2.

Round Hill Music sued the company and data-scraping firm Bright Data on August 17, seeking damages the publisher says could approach or exceed $1 billion .
