007 First Light launched for  Xbox , PlayStation and PC in May after a two-month delay that gave the team time to “further polish and refine the experience” to ensure they delivered the “strongest possible version at launch”. And in a new update, IO Interactive have now confirmed that 007 First Light will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2 at some point in March 2027, a full year after it was supposed to launch on the console.

“We know many of you have been looking forward to experiencing Bond’s reimagined origin story on Nintendo Switch 2, and we greatly appreciate your enthusiasm,” they wrote on social media. “To ensure we deliver the quality of experience players expect, we have made the decision to delay the release to March 2027, with the exact date to be communicated later. This additional time will go toward polishing the Nintendo Switch 2 performance of the game.”

When it launched in May, 007 First Ligh t sold more than a million copies in its first 24 hours and by August, more than 4million units had been shifted. Amazon Games, who took over the publishing rights for all James Bond titles during 007 First Light’s development, have said a sequel to the game will happen .

“Technically, Amazon does own the rights to the game, but we’re going to do what’s right by the game, we’re not trying to bring everything into Amazon,” explained head of Amazon Games Jeff Gattis in an interview with GamesIndustry . “Given the success of this one, I think you probably want IOI developing it.”

Elden Ring was also supposed to launch on the Switch 2 last year but was delayed until August 2026 to allow time for performance adjustments.
