NFL Week 2 game previews

Lions vs. Bills, Thursday Night Football preview

The Week 2 NFL schedule opens with one of the most exciting matchups of the season, with two high-powered offenses in action. The Lions and Bills were tied for third in scoring last season at 28.3 points per game, after finishing first and second, respectively, in scoring offense the season before. Week 1 showed both offenses are ready to keep those trends going, with Buffalo defeating the Texans, 36-31, and the Lions holding off the Saints, 31-30, in overtime. Josh Allen threw for 334 yards and two touchdowns last week for Buffalo. Jahmyr Gibbs rushed for 156 yards and two scores for the Lions.  Bet on the NFL by   claiming the latest DraftKings promo code, where new users get $200 in bonus bets after your first $5 wager :

Bengals vs. Texans preview

Bengals vs. Texans kickoff time  1 p.m. ET Bengals vs. Texans spread Texans -3 Bengals vs. Texans over/under 46.5 Bengals vs. Texans money line Texans -148, Bengals +124

The Houston defense draws another of the NFL's top offenses this week, and the Texans certainly hope for a better showing than last week's 36-31 loss to the Bills. Houston had the No. 2 scoring defense in the NFL last season, and after facing Josh Allen last week, Joe Burrow is no easier task. Burrow threw for 254 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals' 33-27 win over Tampa Bay last week as they had no issues scoring even with Ja'Marr Chase held to two receptions for 12 yards. A top offense against a top defense makes this a compelling matchup.  Claim the Fanatics Sportsbook promo code here to get $350 in FanCash:

Packers vs. Jets preview

Packers vs. Jets kickoff time  1 p.m. ET Packers vs. Jets spread Packers -4.5 Packers vs. Jets over/under 44.5 Packers vs. Jets money line Packers -205, Jets +170

As has been the case far too often for Packers fans in recent seasons, Green Bay blew a late lead and lost a game on Sunday. The Vikings rallied to defeat Green Bay, 39-22, in Week 1 after Minnesota outscored the Packers 22-0 in the fourth quarter. Jordan Love threw for 387 yards and two touchdowns, but he also had an interception and lost a fumble. Meanwhile, the Jets are coming off a 23-10 win over the Titans last week ahead of their home opener on Sunday. Geno Smith threw for 215 yards in his return to New York. The Jets held the Titans to 195 total yards.  Claim the Caesars Sportsbook promo code CBSDYW here and double your winnings on 10 bets :

Saints vs. Ravens preview

Saints vs. Ravens kickoff time  1 p.m. ET Saints vs. Ravens spread Ravens -7.5 Saints vs. Ravens over/under 47.5 Saints vs. Ravens money line Ravens -410, Saints +320

The Saints nearly came back from a 21-0 deficit to knock off the Lions last week, but fell just short in a 31-30 overtime loss. The Saints had possession second in overtime and scored a touchdown to match Detroit, but they chose the two-point try after the score, and it failed. Tyler Shough threw for 410 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions, and Chris Olave had 10 receptions for 182 yards. The Ravens won their opener under head coach Jesse Minter in a 41-23 final against the Colts. Lamar Jackson threw for 324 yards and a score, and Derrick Henry rushed for 144 yards and three touchdowns. These two high-powered offenses could have another shootout Sunday.  Claim $365 in bonus bets with a $10 bet by signing up for bet365 Sportsbook with the promo code CBSBET365 :

Steelers vs. Patriots preview

Steelers vs. Patriots kickoff time  1 p.m. ET Steelers vs. Patriots spread Patriots -5.5 Steelers vs. Patriots over/under 41.5 Steelers vs. Patriots money line Patriots -218, Steelers +180

New England has the rest advantage, playing in the NFL opener on Wednesday, Sept. 9, and falling to the Seahawks, 13-10, in a Super Bowl rematch. Now New England plays its home opener and does so without star offseason acquisition A.J. Brown, who is out at least the next four weeks with an ankle injury. The Patriots went 14-3 last season behind the No. 8 scoring offense and No. 3 scoring defense. Meanwhile, the Steelers are coming off a 20-13 win over Atlanta in the second and final chapter of head coach Mike McCarthy and quarterback Aaron Rodgers as a duo. The Steelers held the Falcons to 238 yards and forced two turnovers last week.  Sign up at Hard Rock Bet and get $100 in bonus bets :

Titans vs. Eagles preview

Titans vs. Eagles kickoff time: 1 p.m. ET Titans vs. Eagles spread: Philadelphia -7 Titans vs. Eagles Over/Under: 39.5 Titans vs. Eagles money line: Tennessee +265, Philadelphia -330

The Eagles began their season with a 24-22 win over the Commanders at home, but they'll go on the road to take on the Titans in Week 2. Tennessee opened the season with a 23-10 loss at home to the Jets and the Titans could only muster 195 yards of total offense. Both teams failed to cover the spread in Week 1 with offenses that looked anemic. Philadelphia will also be moving on without All-Pro guard Landon Dickerson, as he was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury.  Use the FanDuel promo code to get $350 in bonus bets for NFL games:

Bears vs. Vikings preview

Bears vs. Vikings kickoff time: 1 p.m. ET Bears vs. Vikings spread: Chicago -5.5 Bears vs. Vikings Over/Under: 48.5 Bears vs. Vikings money line: Chicago -239, Minnesota +196

The Chicago Bears played the highest-scoring Week 1 game in NFL history on Sunday, beating the Panthers 59-37 on the road. Now they'll host the Vikings, who erased a double-digit deficit to earn a 39-22 win over the Packers in their opener. Carson Wentz will take over at quarterback with Kyler Murray (concussion) sidelined and Justin Jefferson figures to be a major problem for a Chicago secondary that gave up 353 passing yards. However, the Bears rushed for 291 yards last week and Minnesota's defense will also be tested after facing a slew of backup running back against Green Bay.  Bet on the NFL with the BetMGM bonus code CBSSPORTS for up to $1,500 in bonus bets:

Buccaneers vs. Browns preview

Buccaneers vs. Browns kickoff time: 1 p.m. ET Buccaneers vs. Browns spread: Tampa Bay -8.5 Buccaneers vs. Browns Over/Under: 41 Buccaneers vs. Browns money line: Tampa Bay -427, Cleveland +334

Todd Bowles and Todd Monken would probably both admit that their teams looked sloppy in season-opening losses last week. The Buccaneers turned it over four times and Baker Mayfield was sacked four times in a 33-27 loss to the Bengals. The Browns gave it up twice and Deshaun Watson was sacked six times in a 34-10 loss to the Jaguars. Now Tampa Bay comes home, while Cleveland continues a Florida road swing to start the season. It's also a revenge game for Baker Mayfield, as he takes on the team that drafted him first overall just weeks after signing a $165-million extension.  Bet on the NFL by   claiming the latest DraftKings promo code, where new users get $200 in bonus bets after your first $5 wager :

Falcons vs. Panthers preview

Falcons vs. Panthers kickoff time: 1 p.m. ET Falcons vs. Panthers spread: Carolina -2.5 Falcons vs. Panthers Over/Under: 43.5 Falcons vs. Panthers money line: Atlanta +122, Carolina -145

The two NFC South rivals are off to 0-1 starts, where one side of the ball has to feel let down. The Falcons held the Steelers to 264 yards of total offense in a 20-13 loss, and the Panthers put up 478 yards of total offense in a 59-37 loss to the Bears. Bijan Robinson accounted for 171 of Atlanta's 238 yards from scrimmage last week, but the quarterback situation is dire with third-stringer Cooper Rush starting. Meanwhile, Bryce Young threw for 361 yards and three touchdowns last week, but Carolina's defense gave up 552 yards.  Claim $365 in bonus bets with a $10 bet by signing up for bet365 Sportsbook with the promo code CBSBET365 :
