Fall is here and with it comes the first half of the 2026/27 Broadway season, with many new productions set to arrive soon. K. Todd Freeman is back in familiar territory—but he isn't quite stepping into the same play he left behind. The Tony-nominated actor is currently in rehearsals for the Broadway premiere of Bruce Norris' Downstate, returning to a role that he previously played Off-Broadway. This time around, Freeman is one of just two actors, alongside Francis Guinan, returning to the production, meaning that much of the rehearsal process has been about rediscovering the play with an entirely new group of collaborators.

BroadwayWorld is finding out with Notes on a Score. And while the play arrives with centuries of history behind it, their approach to the material is decidedly alive: a company of expert comic actors in a room together, testing jokes, pushing physical comedy to its limits and searching beneath the farce for something recognizably human.

Mason Alexander Park is making their Broadway debut as Margaret in Jamie Lloyd’s Much Ado About Nothing. Park talks finding freedom in Shakespeare, reimagining Margaret through music, gender and representation onstage, and bringing the joyful West End production to New York.

When Suzie Miller brought Prima Facie to Broadway in 2023, the playwright sparked a conversation that stretched far beyond the walls of the Golden Theatre. Now, she's returning to New York with another play that asks audiences to wrestle with some complicated questions. Inter Alia, Miller's latest work, arrives on Broadway this fall starring Rosamund Pike, following its acclaimed run at London's National Theatre.
