Fever, an Event Discovery and Ticketing Platform, Secures $250M in Funding

Fever announced it has raised $250 million in a primary equity financing round, which by the company’s own admission represents “the largest ever for a live-entertainment tech company.”

Europe private markets investor EQT led the round, with participation from Point72 Private Investments, Baillie Gifford, as well as other existing investors.

The funding round follows three years of sustained growth at scale, during which Fever “more than tripled its revenue, remained EBITDA-positive, and strengthened its position across North America and Asia,” according to the press announcement.

The funding round is an indication of a the great belief held by live professionals and investors alike, that shared experiences in the presence of other human beings cannot be imitated or even replaced by technology, including AI.

If anything, the company reasons, the demand for in-person, shared experiences is accelerating in a tech-focused world, as more people turn to live entertainment for the kind of connection no screen can offer.

“Fever’s mission, to democratise access to culture and live entertainment, sits at the centre of that shift, and this funding allows the company to accelerate it,” the press release continued.

Fever was co-founded and is being led by three Spaniards, Ignacio Bachiller, Francisco Hein and Alexandre Perez. They aim to use the capital to expand Fever’s geographic footprint beyond the 55 countries in which it operates today and to deepen its presence across all major entertainment categories.

“It will also step up investment in technology and tools for its partners — promoters, venues, sports teams, attractions, artists, museums and cultural institutions — helping them understand demand, reach the right audiences, optimize ticketing and take successful formats into new markets,” the press release continues.

Fever has been collaborating with some major global culture and entertainment brands, including Spanish soccer clubs FC Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid, the Palace of Versailles, Netflix and Warner Bros, Formula 1, SailGP, X Games, the FIFA Arab Cup, Kew Gardens (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the National Museum of the Royal Navy, the Frida Kahlo Museum, and more.

Under its new global agreement with Formula 1, for example, Fever will serve as an official supplier through 2031, providing ticketing technology and supporting fan-experience optimization.

“Fever will roll out its new platform across every Grand Prix worldwide through Formula 1’s official global website, while the two companies will jointly implement cutting-edge solutions to enhance the fan experience and expand the international distribution of official race tickets, hospitality and Paddock Club packages,” according to the press release, which concludes, “While the technology industry debates what AI can replace, Fever is building the world’s infrastructure for what it cannot: the energy of a live crowd, the memory of a shared moment, the connection between performer and audience.”
