It’s a busy era on the heavily proliferating venues side at Live Nation Entertainment, and at the center of it all is veteran Karl Adams, the company’s head of venue operations.

“What I am most proud of is how our teams have maintained our commitment to operational excellence while adding new venues to Venue Nation,” he says. “We opened seven new venues in 2025 and are opening more this year, including two major amphitheaters this summer, all while continuing to improve and invest in our existing venues. Our teams have opened these new venues with experience, discipline and a willingness to keep improving.”

While new builds and renovations are opportunities, they also present challenges common to any company operating at scale: balancing quality and consistency across the portfolio while maintaining a local feel and responding to local factors and expectations.

“Fans and artists should get a great experience everywhere, but teams also need the freedom to make decisions for their venues, their crew and their communities,” he says. “We have focused on giving teams the tools, resources and trust they need, always staying close to the operation and sharing what works across the portfolio.”

Being nimble means responding to changing tastes, as well. Live Nation venues have ramped up non-alcoholic options, for example, and have even tweaked souvenir options for the selfie-loving Gens Z and Alpha, offering hands-free options like drink straps to maximize photo-snapping.

Adams is also proud of efforts made in sustainability — Live Nation amps recovered nearly 3,000 tons of concert materials last year and have increased their ability to host zero-waste tours — and inclusivity — partnering with KultureCity to optimize venues for fans with sensory needs.

“What excites me most is giving our teams the tools and freedom to keep testing new ideas, listening to fans and finding better ways to operate,” he says. “The best ideas come from the people closest to the work, doing it every day.
