Mark Dodds Appointed as TEG Reshuffles Leadership, Tim McGregor Departs

SYDNEY, Australia – Paul Dainty  enjoys new duties at TEG, while Mark Dodds climbs the ranks and Tim McGregor departs in a sweeping restructuring of the group’s concert promotion activities.

The live entertainment, ticketing, and technology powerhouse presses the button on a “strategic reset,” one that sees McGregor leaving the business “to embark on his next chapter.”

McGregor, who departs after 20 years serving with Dainty Group and TEG, most recently as TEG Live’s global head of touring, will hand over the reins of TEG Live to Dodds in the coming weeks.

Through this executive restructuring, Dodds takes the new role of managing director, TEG Live, reward for his work on tours by the likes of Olivia Dean, Fred again.., Fontaines D.C., Phoebe Bridgers and Beabadoobee. By assuming leadership of TEG Live, Dodds will have responsibility for upcoming tours from System Of A Down, Icehouse, Niall Horan and others. Dodds will continue to lead Handsome Tours as managing director.

Meanwhile, Dainty, one of the great names of concert promotion in these parts, or anywhere, assumes the new post of TEG’s president of touring and theatrical, in addition to his role as CEO TEG Dainty.

Also, Danny Rogers and Jerome Borazio , co-founders of Laneway Festival and Laneway Presents, continue within the TEG ranks. According to a statement, the Laneway Festival 2027 lineup announcement is “imminent.”

Also, TEG recruits John Ranieri as chief information officer across the TEG Group. Ranieri boasts more than 20 years of experience in digital and technology leadership positions, most recently serving as head of transformation and CTO (General Insurance) at Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

Announced on Thursday, Sept. 24, TEG’s new leadership lineup is meant to drive the group’s “next phase of growth and execute on its sharpened Asia-Pacific touring focus,” and reaches across the business’s activities in stadium touring, theater, festivals, and talent development.

The new structure is said to complement the broader leadership team assembled by Cameron Hoy , who was promoted to CEO of TEG with effect from June 1.

TEG (or Ticketek Entertainment Group) is owned by Silver Lake, the U.S.-based private equity company which specializes in technology investing, through a deal struck in 2019 worth more than A$1.3 billion.

Based in Sydney, TEG’s empire collects the ticketing powerhouse Ticketek, TEG Dainty, TEG Van Egmond, plus TEG Live , TEG Sport, TEG Experiences, Ovation and other businesses.

Founded in 1979, Ticketek’s Australian presence sells over 23 million tickets to more than 20,000 events each year, according to a statement on its official website, including concerts at ANZ Stadium, Qudos Bank Arena, Rod Laver Arena, Hisense Arena, Suncorp Stadium, and Brisbane Entertainment Centre. Today, the ticketing specialist operates seven country offices, including the United Kingdom, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines.

On the departure of McGregor, Hoy remarks: “I want to thank Tim for his enormous contribution over his 20-year journey with us. Having worked alongside him for the past 10 years, I have immense appreciation and respect for him and all he has achieved. He leaves a lasting legacy having developed a promoter division with capabilities unmatched across the region, and we wish him all the best in his next chapter.”
