My Chemical Romance’s ‘The Black Parade’ 20th Anniversary Celebration Details Revealed

My Chemical Romance ’s The Black Parade turns 20 on Oct. 23, and two decades after its release, the album still has a hold on fans. To mark the milestone, the band is revisiting the era at eyeliner-loving store Hot Topic with an expanded anniversary release, exclusive vinyl and merch, a nationwide listening party and a monthlong immersive experience timed to the final dates of MCR’s current tour.

The Black Parade has also maintained a steady presence on the charts. The 2006 album has logged more than 157 weeks (and counting) on the Billboard 200 , and recently reached No. 19 on both Billboard ’s Top Album Sales and Vinyl Albums charts dated Sept. 26. It also remains in the top 30 on the Top Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums and Top Rock & Alternative Albums charts.

Collectors will have a new pressing to add to their shelves when a Hot Topic-exclusive Tan & Black Galaxy double vinyl edition of The Black Parade arrives Oct. 23. Stores nationwide will also carry expanded MCR merch and limited-run anniversary shopping bags featuring Keposhka lettering, while storefronts will feature artwork by James Jean, the artist behind the album’s original cover.

The album’s anniversary will also be celebrated on Oct. 23, when Hot Topic stores nationwide host listening parties for fans to revisit The Black Parade 20 years after its original release.

In Los Angeles, the anniversary extends throughout the month. From Oct. 1 to 31, Hot Topic’s Ovation Hollywood location will transform into an immersive Black Parade experience inspired by MCR’s current tour and the fictional world of Draag, complete with exclusive merch, collectibles, limited-edition giveaways and a photo opportunity featuring His Grand Immortal Dictator’s throne.

The monthlong takeover coincides with the finale of The Black Parade 2026 Tour , which brings MCR to the Hollywood Bowl for five shows on Oct. 21, 23, 24, 30 and 31 (tickets still available on StubHub ). The Hollywood location will stay open until 1 a.m. on each concert night, giving fans another stop before or after the show.

Visitors making qualifying apparel or accessory purchases can also receive limited-edition Keposhka alphabet beads, while qualifying MCR vinyl purchases come with a commemorative slip mat, both while supplies last.

Twenty years later, The Black Parade is still marching on.
