Noah Kahan Honors Late Stars With "Bridge Over Troubled Water" at Emmys In Memoriam

At the 2026 Emmy Awards on Monday night, Noah Kahan took the Peacock Theater stage to perform “Bridge Over Troubled Water” as the awards ceremony paused for its traditional In Memoriam segment. This year, the ceremony looked back on lost stars including Rob Reiner, Sam Neill, Tim Curry, Isaiah Whitlock Jr., James Van Der Beek, and Catherine O’Hara.

O’Hara received a special tribute at the beginning of the ceremony from her past screen children Macaulay Culkin, Annie Murphy, and Dan Levy, while Jamie Lee Curtis came out to remember late TV director James Burrows as well as Reiner.

Prior to the show, producer Jesse Collins told Variety that Kahan chose the Paul Simon song because it’s “very meaningful to him. Paul Simon is one of his favorite artists. So it was really about coming up with an arrangement that does the song justice. He’s such a pure musician, and he’s worked really hard with our team to create something I think people are going to love.”
