Olivia Miles Unanimously Voted WNBA Rookie of the Year for Lynx

Minnesota Lynx star Olivia Miles has been unanimously voted the KIA WNBA Rookie of the Year.

The second overall pick in this year's draft, Miles averaged 19.8 points, 6.0 assists and 4.7 rebounds for a Lynx team that finished with the league's best record at 33-11.

Miles broke Caitlin Clark 's record for most points by a rookie and was the only first-year player named to this year's All-Star Game.

Miles' efforts were key for the Lynx as star Napheesa Collier didn't make her season debut until mid-July because of offseason surgery on both of her ankles.

Miles joined Collier among six Minnesota players to have been named Rookie of the Year a list that includes Crystal Dangerfield (2020), Collier (2019), Maya Moore (2011), Seimone Augusts (2006) and Betty Lennox (2000).

Miles and the Lynx hope this season still has some more games left in it. Despite being the No. 1 seed in the playoffs, Minnesota is down 1-0 in their first-round series against the New York Liberty after a 91-75 loss on Sunday . Miles scored 11 points and had a team-high eight rebounds in the loss.
