Nominees, presenters, performers and host Snoop Dogg are walking the carpet ahead of MTV ‘s 2026 Video Music Awards Sunday night.

The Associated Press is live at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, where the VMAs are held, as the stars arrive. Watch a livestream of the red carpet below, and continue to follow The Hollywood Reporter throughout the night to see which artists are taking home an MTV “Moon Person” trophy.

This year, Madonna tops the nominees with 13, followed by Swift with 11, Sabrina Carpenter with nine, Ariana Grande with eight and Bruno Mars with seven.

The lineup of performers includes Madonna, who last performed on the VMAs stage more than 20 years ago, Lisa, Shaboozey, Raye, Sienna Spiro, Kacey Musgraves, Teddy Swims, SOMBR, GENER8ION, Gunna and Yung Lean, among others.

Taylor Swift has also been tapped to receive the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors, while Nirvana will receive the video vanguard award. Special tributes are also set for Dolly Parton and George Michael .

Ahead of the ceremony, VMAs producer Van Toffler teased to THR that it will be “a kick-ass, fast-paced show.” He added of Snoop Dogg handling the night’s hosting duties, “There’s no cooler human on the planet. He’s so facile with movie stars and music stars and celebrities and athletes. Everyone’s comfortable with him. I think that interplay with the performers will be a big part of the show.”

The 2026 VMAs air Sunday (7:30-9:30 p.m. ET/4:30-6:30 p.m. PT) on CBS and MTV and stream on Paramount+ (Premium) in the U.S. It will also be available globally the next day on Paramount+ and MTV.
