Angine de Poitrine are this year’s Polaris Music Prize victors. The masked and polka-dotted duo took home the Canadian album of the year award for their math-punk LP Vol. II . They also scooped the prize for the best Canadian song of the year for “Fabienk,” making them the first act to score both. Accepting the awards—which netted $30,000 and $10,000 Canadian, respectively—the duo’s manager Sébastien Collin said the attention directed to “music this rock-driven and this complex is unexpected, yet entirely deserved.”

Yves Jarvis was last year’s Polaris Music Prize winner , for All Cylinders , while the inaugural song prize went to Mustafa for “Gaza Is Calling.” The prize money comes via the Slaight Family Foundation and SOCAN. Other 2026 nominees included Beverly Glenn-Copeland, Rochelle Jordan, Peaches, and 2014 winner Tanya Tagaq.
