Eagles RT Lane Johnson Retires After 14 Seasons, Citing Mental Health
Two-time All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson has announced his retirement from the Philadelphia Eagles, concluding a 14-year career with the team to prioritize his mental well-being.

Philadelphia Eagles two-time All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson announced his retirement Tuesday, ending a 14-year career spent entirely in Philadelphia.
Johnson, 36, who is considered one of the top offensive tackles in the NFL, was a surprise inactive on Sunday with the Eagles saying it was for personal reasons.
"I deeply wanted to gut it out for one more year; to take the field with my brothers for one last season. But after a lot of reflection, I've realized that my personal and family priorities have changed. Right now it is critical that I focus on my mental health," he wrote in a statement posted to social media .
"I owe it to my teammates, coaches, the organization and the fans to have my head and heart 100 percent in the game. And right now my heart is telling me that it's time to say goodbye to football."

A two-time Super Bowl champion, Johnson has made the Pro Bowl six times in his career.
