Funk Flex has publicly addressed the heated altercation he was involved in with entertainment executive Shadow Stokes and former Hot 97 employee TT Torrez during the New York Knicks’ NBA regular season opener at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday evening (Oct. 20).
On Wednesday morning (Oct. 21), the Hot 97 DJ, who was in attendance at MSG to witness his hometown Knicks receive their NBA Championship rings, took to social media to deny reports that he was physically harmed during the altercation.
In a series of posts on his Instagram account, Flex scoffed at rumors of him being attacked by Stokes, sharing a screenshot of an email from TMZ inquiring about the incident, and footage of their run-in while mocking his supposed assailant.
“YOU WISH I GOT PUNCHED IN THE FACE!” Flex wrote in the first post, insinuating that Stokes was attempting to provoke him to attack him in order to have reason to file a lawsuit against him. “I GUESS I GOT THESE LABEL GUYS KINDA ANGRY!” he added. “THEY WANNA SUE WHEN THEY DONT GET THEY WAY!”
In a subsequent post, Flex seemingly accused Stokes of throwing a drink at him and telling him to punch Stokes so he can take civil action against him. He also accused Stokes of having an “active case” against him, calling the executive an “ambulance chaser” attempting to “bait” him into a payout.
He later teased that he would speak in-depth on the incident on Thursday (Oct. 22) during his radio show on Hot 97. Stokes’ wife, former Hot 97 radio personality and employee TT Torrez, has also spoken out against the incident, issuing a statement through a representative accusing Funk Flex of physically assaulting her during the altercation with her husband.
“What was meant to be an enjoyable evening out for Mrs. Torrez and her husband became a deeply disturbing and traumatic experience,” the rep told TMZ. “A verbal exchange between her husband and Funkmaster Flex escalated into a physical confrontation in which Funkmaster Flex shoved her violently.”

Torrez’s rep claimed that the footage circulating of the altercation is misleading, as Stokes was “defending” Torrez during the incident. “The brief video circulating online does not tell the full story,” the rep told TMZ .
In addition to her and Stokes’ run-in with Flex at Madison Square Garden, Torrez, who worked at Hot 97 with Flex for multiple years prior to her exit from the station in 2025, claims to have endured “ongoing harassment, intimidation, and bullying” by Flex.
Torrez’s rep says Flex’s alleged mistreatment of her resulted in a settlement with MediaCo Hot 97 and “a non-disparagement agreement,” which Flex’s recent comments allegedly violated.
According to Torrez’s rep, a police report detailing the incident involving Flex, Stokes, and Torrez was filed online by Torrez on Tuesday evening (Oct. 20).
Funk Flex, Stokes, and Torrez did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
