Kate Nash Announces Fall North American Tour Ahead of New Album ‘Cailín’

With the countdown on to Kate Nash’s new album, the BRIT award-winning artist has announced dates for a North American fall headline tour.

Nash, who won the BRIT Award for British Female Solo Artist in 2008 and proudly holds dual British and Irish nationality, will release her sixth studio album, Cailín , via Kill Rock Stars on Jan. 22, 2027.

Listeners might just think they dropped into an impromptu pub performance complete with fiddles, flutes, the bodhrán, harp and banjo, along with Nash herself playing the tin whistle.

Cailín is described as “a love letter to her Irish heritage” and “a raw, raucous album combining traditional Irish sounds with punk energy, nods to hip hop production and Nash’s knack for a killer hook.” The album was produced by KoOoLkOjAk and recorded on the West Coast of Ireland at Stiúideo Cuan, with trad musician Charlie Lennon. Contributors include Niamh Dunne, Lottie Cullen, Aimée Farrell Courtney and Biird’s Lisa Canny.

The LP’s lead single, “Spilt Milk,” premiered on Huw Stephens on BBC 6 Music and offers a look at how reproductive rights are being eroded for women.

“It’s about not having control over your own body, not being listened to and feeling like the powers that be are getting bigger, scarier and more crushing,” Nash said in a statement. “With the overturning of Roe v Wade and women’s sexual health rights being rolled back in the US this song feels pertinent to today. The song questions why the female voice is so ignored and why we’d be expected to accept this.”

The album also includes a cover of Sinead O’Connor’s “Famine,” detailing Britain’s role in An Gorta Mór, also known as the Great Hunger.

Nash says, “The English don’t know their history. I’m English too – I’m saying, this has not been taught to me. We have ignorance and we need to understand things, to give ourselves context.”

The North American headline tour starts Nov. 3 in Somerville, Massachusetts and runs through Nov. 16 in San Diego, CA, with stops in Philadelphia, New York, D.C., Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and more.

An artist presale starts Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 10 a.m. ET, along with local and venue presales at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. local time.
