Madonna and Charli XCX Unite for New Song “Danceteria Afterhours”

Madonna and Charli XCX are heading to “Danceteria Afterhours” on their first collaborative track, the latest in a string of addenda to the queen of pop’s Confessions II . The rework of that album’s “Danceteria” is co-produced by Andrew Watt, Cirkut, Stuart Price, and Madonna herself. Check it out below.

“Danceteria Afterhours,” dropping just days before Madonna’s return to the VMAs, is her second union in as many months, after she enlisted Kylie Minogue for August’s “ Love Sensation (Afterhours Mix) .” The collaboration follows an apparent side-eye from Madge to Charli, when she wrote on social media in May, “If your Dance floor feels dead, maybe you’re playing the wrong music.” On her Music, Fashion, Film single “Rock Music,” Charli XCX sings the much-quoted line, “I think the dancefloor is dead/So now we’re making rock music.”
