Miley has dropped the scorching video for “Different Religion,” her new single from her 10th studio album, Bass Persuades .
Directed by Mert Alas, the cinematic visual opens on a desert road flanked by mountains, a car speeds through, which is later revealed to be driven by Miley. “I got my own god,” she declares while caressing her face, bathed in red light. “He drives a fast car.” Later she’s seen rocking a guitar and in black and white. “I’ve got my own god/My god’s a hot boy,” she sings as a hot boy, model Charlie Knepper, indeed joins her for the joy ride.
“I want to be saved by a different religion/I crave to believe him,” goes the chorus. “We don’t need forgiveness/I want to be saved by a different religion.”
Model/Actriz ’s Cole Haden and Miley take turns on other verses, as different models mouth along to the words in the video. They sultrily sing together, “In the rear view/Every passing exit/My faith is his hard body, cracked leather.”
