Oceans Calling Festival in Ocean City Canceled by Nor'easter
The three-day Oceans Calling music festival on Ocean City’s beachfront has been called off due to a powerful nor'easter, with organizers citing safety concerns as the reason for cancellation.
Oceans Calling, a beloved three-day music festival on Ocean City’s beachfront, has been called off because of a surging nor’easter.
Festival organizers announced the cancellation Friday morning, saying the storm system prevented them from hosting the event safely.
“The National Weather Service is reporting a stronger and more updated westward track of the Nor’easter storm system,” a statement from the C3 Presents-produced festival read. “Tides, floods, and high winds have prevented us from safely continuing the build of Oceans Calling Festival. Following the advice of the National Weather Service and in cooperation with local public officials, we must make the difficult decision to cancel Oceans Calling 2026.”

Fans who purchased passes via Front Gate Tickets will be fully refunded. The festival closed its statement by saying, “Thank you to the Oceans Calling fans. We know how far you have traveled, and the time and energy you have put into being here. If you are in town already and staying through the weekend, please enjoy Ocean City and be safe.”
The 2026 edition of the festival featured a stacked lineup headlined by Twenty One Pilots, Dave Matthews Band, Mumford & Sons, Gwen Stefani, Hootie & The Blowfish and Matchbox Twenty.
Organizers initially announced the cancellation of the first day and informed fans they were working hard to make the final two days happen. The severe weather in the region also forced Ed Sheeran to cancel his two-night stand at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
It is unclear how the weather will affect Ocean Calling’s sister festival, Country Calling, on Oct. 2 and 3. The country festival is headlined by Lainey Wilson, Chris Stapleton, Rascal Flatts, Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley.
