That figure comes from TMZ , via a solid source: the publication reported on Wednesday ( September 30 ) that it had obtained legal documents setting out how the proceeds from the deal will be treated in Sia’s divorce from Daniel Bernad .
The price for 50% of the catalog implies a valuation of $360 million for the whole set.
In an official press release confirming the deal – though not the price – Pophouse said it had acquired a 50% stake in Sia’s “publishing and master music rights” and that it would support the artist “in developing new creative ventures while continuing to steward her influential body of work”.
The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions, it said.
Sia’s music has driven billions of streams and attracted nine Grammy nominations. The catalog includes the Australian artist’s global hits such as Unstoppable , Chandelier , Elastic Heart , and Cheap Thrills.
Sia said: “I’m really excited to be working with Pophouse. These songs mean so much to me, and I love that they really understand that and want to take care of them.
“I’ve been making music for a very long time now, and it feels exciting to think about all the new and different ways these songs might get to live on and find people. I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can dream up together.”
Pophouse CEO, Jessica Koravos , said: “Sia is an artist whose extraordinary catalog and unique creative identity offer exceptional opportunities to celebrate and build on her remarkable body of work.
“This partnership will further empower Sia with strategic support and creative resources to continue pursuing her artistic ambitions while preserving and expanding her influence. It is a privilege to partner with Sia, and we look forward to supporting her continued artistic growth and ability to inspire audiences around the world.”

Pophouse Fund Partner, Shahriar Shokofan , said: “Few artists have shaped modern pop as profoundly as Sia, whose songwriting and unmistakable voice have defined some of the most iconic records of the past few decades.
“Sia’s ability to balance artistic integrity with mass appeal sets her apart as a truly unstoppable force. We are delighted to partner with her at this point in her career, with a shared ambition to support the continued growth of her catalog and to unlock new audiences around the world.”
The deal marks Pophouse’s third major artist partnership of 2026.
In July, Pophouse announced it had acquired a stake in the publishing and master music rights – plus the name, image, and likeness (NIL) rights – of heavy rock pioneers, Iron Maiden .
And in March , Pophouse acquired a majority stake in Tina Turner’s music interests and NIL rights via a deal with BMG .
That was the first rights acquisition Pophouse announced under CEO Jessica Koravos , who took over from Per Sundin in January.
Pophouse’s portfolio of partnerships with major artists also includes Cyndi Lauper, KISS, Avicii, and others.
Pophouse’s KISS deal in 2024, which covered the band’s song catalog and NIL rights, was reported to be worth more than $300 million .
The company is developing a KISS avatar show, slated for 2028 .
Beyond rights deals, Pophouse is one of the founding investors in ABBA Voyage , the avatar concert show staged at the purpose-built ABBA Arena in East London.
Pophouse’s investment in the Sia catalog has been made through Pophouse Fund I , the firm’s debut fund, which closed in March 2025, reaching its hard cap of EUR €1 billion.
Over €200 million in additional capital was secured through dedicated co-investment vehicles, bringing the total fundraise to over €1.2 billion .
Pophouse was co-founded in 2014 by ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus and EQT Founder Conni Jonsson .
TMZ reports that of the $180 million total deal with Sia, $165 million relates to songs Sia wrote before she legally married Daniel Bernad in December 2022, including Chandelier , Titanium , and Cheap Thrills.
Bernad has agreed to give up any claim on the $165 million if Sia pays him $1 million , TMZ said.
That leaves Sia with $164 million from the portion of the sale tied to her pre-marriage songs.
The remaining $15 million relates to songs Sia wrote after the pair married.
That money will be held in escrow , according to the documents, and could become the subject of a later dispute if the former couple can’t settle on a division.
In 2015 , Sia extended her long-term worldwide publishing deal with Sony /ATV , which has since rebranded as Sony Music Publishing .
That agreement covered Sia’s entire catalog at the time, including songs she had written for Beyoncé , Rihanna , Eminem , and David Guetta .
Sia co-wrote Rihanna ‘s Diamonds , and co-wrote and sang on Guetta ‘s Titanium .
Chandelier , released in 2014 , became Sia’s first US Top 10 hit as a lead artist. Music Business Worldwide
