Tim McGraw's "Pawn Shop Guitar Tour" Debuts High on Charts

Tim McGraw is on the charts with his “Pawn Shop Guitar Tour” after box-office totals were reported from the North American trek that launched earlier this summer. The country star has been playing amphitheaters and stadiums since kicking off the tour on July 9 at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, New York.

He debuts on both LIVE75 and Global Concert Pulse this week based on ticket sales at concert venues on the tour. Three performances in early August in eastern U.S. cities produced a per-show ticket average of 14,389 which earns the No. 15 ranking on LIVE75, along with “Hot Shot” status as the touring headliner with the highest ranked debut on the chart.

The first of the three dates was a sellout on Aug. 6 at Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach, Virginia, attended by 14,585 fans. Then, the following evening he performed for a crowd of 17,245 at Raleigh, North Carolina’s Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek and 11,338 more fans the next night at Charleston, South Carolina’s Credit One Stadium. Combined grosses from all three concerts hit $2.4 million.

Altogether, sales figures from 15 concerts were reported to Pollstar , beginning with the tour’s New York opener on July 9 through the Charleston date on Aug. 8. Total attendance at those performances reached 228,289 with an overall gross of $13.5 million. All 15 of the shows land in the three-month eligibility period for Global Concert Pulse which features the top 100 touring headliners ranked by the average gross per show. McGraw lands on that chart at No. 44 and is, again, the highest ranked artist debuting this week.

The best-attended event on the tour is a performance at Fenway Park in Boston where 32,127 fans saw McGraw perform on July 30. Along with the band 49 Winchester, the opening act throughout the run of the tour, the show also featured opening sets by The Chicks, Lady A and Timothy Wayne. The same artists were also in the lineup for an earlier stadium date at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The number of tickets sold for that concert on July 11 was 18,106.

The “Pawn Shop Guitar Tour” is currently scheduled through Sep. 26 with a final performance planned at iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida. In October, though, McGraw will head to Las Vegas for a five-night residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. He will appear there from Oct. 23 through Nov. 7.

The LIVE75 chart also features another country music artist making their debut this week in the top 25. Megan Moroney enters the lineup at No. 19 based on a ticket average of 13,146 from three concerts on “The Cloud 9 Tour,” the ongoing arena trek supporting her third studio album that was released in February. Based on ticket sales reported from 15 performances since launch, she has averaged 13,789 sold seats per show with grosses averaging $1.7 million per night.

The opening North American leg of the tour began May 29 at Columbus, Ohio’s Schottenstein Center and ran through Aug. 27, ending with a performance at Denver’s Ball Arena. The tour heads to Europe next, kicking off with a Sep. 13 show at Sentrum Scene in Oslo, Norway. The final show this year is set for The O2 Belfast in North Ireland on Oct. 1.

Looking ahead to 2027, Moroney has arena dates booked in three Australian cites next May. Single performances are planned for Melbourne and Sydney, followed by two concerts in Brisbane.
