Rock band Turnstile debuted on Saturday Night Live with the first single and a two-song medley off of their Grammy-winning album Never Enough .

The Baltimore-based hardcore group, the night after their Austin City Limits gig, opened with “Birds.” The song took home Best Metal Performance at the Grammys in February.

Never Enough , the group’s fourth album following 2021’s Glow On , won Best Rock Album at the same awards show, in which the band was the first to be nominated simultaneously in the Rock, Alternative and Metal categories. A “reimagined” version of Never Enough came out in August.

Later on SNL , the group played a medley of “I Care” and “Dull,” which was anything but.

Turnstile wrote all fourteen songs on their latest album. Its title track, lead singer Brendan Yates told Rolling Stone last December, “has existed in my head for a long time.”

“It was [about] a lot of different life experiences — about the feeling of love always falling short, or feeling like it’s falling short of having a lasting impact. This feeling of constantly chasing and constantly reaching. That can be a pattern, that, if you’re stuck in it, it’s really hard to escape,” he said. “We knew right away, when that song found its form, that that was leading the way with what this record needed to be. It spoke to a lot of the last few years of our lives, since the last album.”
