Clap Your Hands Say Yeah Reveal New Album Burned and Share Track "Fever Of The Mind"

In a few weeks, my former boss, the Pitchfork founder Ryan Schreiber, will publish his memoir Weird Era: How Pitchfork Changed Music Forever . I've already read the book, and a lot of it is Schreiber giving his hindsight-enhanced reflections on the big moments in Pitchfork's history. So you better believe he's got some things to say about Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, the previously unheralded indie band who got a big boost when Pitchfork raved about their self-titled 2005 debut and who then became a symbol of, and perhaps a punchline about, the site's starmaking powers. Anyway, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah endure, and they've got a new album on the way.

Alec Ounsworth, the only core member of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, spent last year marking the 20th anniversary of the band's debut with a tour and a reissue . Early in 2027, they'll release Burned , the first CYHSY album in more than six years. Lead single "Fever Of The Mind" is a big, sweeping, passionate piece of old-school indie rock that feels very, very comforting for those of us who were there. It's a nice little reminder of why Pitchfork liked those guys in the first place. Below, check out that song and the dates for the band's 2027 tour.
