Tom Morello and Son Roman Perform "Soldier in the Army of Love" on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Tom Morello and his 15-year-old son Roman performed the song “Soldier in the Army of Love” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday night.

The song comes from the Rage Against the Machine guitarist’s new solo album, Everyone Gets Everything They Want , which was released this past Friday, September 25th.

Tom and Roman, along with Tom’s solo band, delivered a high-energy performance of the tune at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, where Kimmel is filming his late-night show this week. Both father and son stomped around the stage as they rocked their guitars, with Roman even going full Hendrix by playing a blistering solo while lifting his guitar behind his head.

The performance preceded Morello’s upcoming Power to the People festival , which is slated to take place this Saturday, October 3rd, at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. Joining Morello on the bill are Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthers, Public Enemy, Dropkick Murphys, Jack Black (performing with Roman and other young musicians), Serj Tankian, Taylor Momsen, and more.

Tickets for Power to the People are sold out ( official fan exchange here ), but it will be streaming on YouTube beginning 1 p.m. ET on Saturday.
