Silverlake Conservatory of Music, the Los Angeles nonprofit music school founded by the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea and former RHCP touring member Tree Barry, will mark its silver anniversary with a star-studded benefit at the Hollywood Palladium Oct. 17.
Comedian Marc Maron will host the event which features performances from the Chili Peppers, Dave Grohl, Vince Staples and more.
SCM hosts an annual private benefit dinner with the aim of raising $1.5 million. Past performers have included Red Hot Chili Peppers, Patti Smith, Eddie Vedder, Neil Young, KD Lang, Bruno Mars, John Legend, Beck, Kamasi Washington, and Tracy Chapman. This year, to mark the 25th anniversary milestone, the school is opening up its birthday party for a broader celebration at the famed Hollywood venue.
