Emily Eavis Honored at Ivors Academy Awards for Impact on Music and Culture

The Ivors Academy honored its 2026 winners last week, Oct. 1, during a ceremony at the Intercontinental London Park Lane. Glastonbury organizer Emily Eavis was among them.

Eavis, a 2025 Pollstar Women of Live honoree , was recognized for her impact on music and culture, and her commitment to championing emerging talent.

Through the festival, songwriters across a variety of genres and backgrounds receive the opportunity to connect with audiences on an extraordinary scale, and Eavis and her team consistently place new and developing artists alongside the superstars.

Eavis’ was presented with her award by Elbow frontman Guy Garvey. Accepting her honor, she said, “Thank you so much. This means a lot to me because Glastonbury is about showcasing talent; so many artists have come through, from Adele to Stormzy. It’s such a celebration of these incredible artists, particularly British artists. It’s very special to receive this from you guys who are at the forefront fighting for artists, so thank you.”

Speaking of Stormzy, the British rapstar was also among the 2026 Ivors recipients, recognizing his impact on British music and culture and his commitment to creating opportunities for others. Receiving the trophy – a sculpture of Euterpe, the Greek muse of music and lyric poetry – from Shani Gonzales, Managing Director of Warner Chappell Music UK and Head of International A&R, Stormzy said, “Thank you to the Ivors for this award, I am super grateful. I am in a room with people who inspire me, and people who I’m still so honored to be around, and I’m so very very blessed that I get to call music my job.”

The night’s other winners were James Blake, Victor Finn, CEO of Ireland’s music rights collecting society IMRO, Sentric Music CEO Chris Meehan, MNEK, and Broadcaster, DJ, curator and writer Annie Macmanus, better known as Annie Mac.

The seven recipients join Elton John, who received an Ivors Academy honor earlier this year, in recognition of his outstanding work championing songwriters, composers and creativity across the industry. The Ivors Academy also announced Elton John as its first-ever president.

The Ivors Academy Honours recognize creators and music industry figures who have gone beyond their own careers to make a lasting difference to songwriters and composers. They continue the legacy of the Academy’s Gold Badge Awards, first presented in 1974, which recognized individuals who made an outstanding contribution to the UK’s music industry.

Previous honorees include RAYE, Kae Tempest, Sir Richard Branson, Jon Platt, Kanya King CBE and Carla Marie Williams MBE.
